Help Autistic Children Feel Safe There's almost nothing in the world that people wouldn't do for the children. They light our life, give us an objective, and make us better people. If I thought being a mother was an atmosphere like no other, it was just because I didn't understand what this means to be a grandmother. Rhylan, my grandchild, changed that for me. He made me discover motherhood yet again and there truly isn't anything on earth that I wouldn't do to see him happy and safe in a global that can be a little too chaotic for kids like Rhylan. Rhylan is on the high functioning end of Autism Spectrum Disorder. He was diagnosed when he was 18 months old and ever since then, being able to find a daycare that could look after his special needs is a relentless challenge. Today, he is four years of age but regular daycares that promise to provide care for children with Autism prefer keeping him amongst 2-year-old babies because he is non-verbal and doesn't have the proper potty training you'd expect other four-year olds to possess and he doesn't respond actively to his surroundings. As much as it pains me as a mother to see my daughter heartbroken, I'm frightened for my grandchild who might never manage to tell me if he is being abused, bullied, ignored or simply taken advantage of. My experience with not to be able to find the correct daycare for Rhylan only makes me realize how many parents on the market using their children having Autism must certanly be sailing in the same boat as me, feeling hopeless and shooting arrows in the dark.
